Private Lessons?
Often people dismiss the idea of paying for a Private Lesson as either too extravagent, or they really believe they wont benefit at all.
A private lesson is dedicated to you, and your partner if you take one. It will be tailored to you, your needs in specific areas where it will be most beneficial.
Good coaches will advise what would be most helpful to you whilst trying to integrate what you would like to do.
A one hour private lesson works at a much deeper level than you will ever get in a group lesson. In our experience one hour is plenty, beyond that you can become overloaded, as we call it “brain dead”, where you’re unable to absorb any more information.
It’s useful if they teach as a couple, then one can observe and take videos, which is a hugely invaluable aid.
If you’re more experienced and want to work on a specific element, such as the “Volcada”, which is a complicated move to get right without damaging either dancer, this is the place to do it.
Keep practicing to reinforce what you’ve learnt, as it’s very fragile and you need to get it embedded into your muscle memory. This is especially so if you’re trying to undo a ‘bad’ habit that’s crept into your dance.
